【attributeの訳し方】～ crop failure attributed to climate change ～英語の質問

この文章の和訳はどうなるのかという質問を複数の生徒に受けたので、メモを残しておきます。
まず、前半。

ここまでの塊が主語ですね。
「今年は、小麦やトウモロコシといった穀物の国際価格が」
climbed to record levels・・・記録的レベル’（水準）まで上昇した。
ここまでが大きな文章の骨組み。
以下、その原因を３つ述べています。

太字部分が原因となる３つの名詞表現です。
説明の都合で
② increasing use of cereals for biofuel production から
use は動詞ではなく名詞ですね
・・・バイオ燃料の生産のために増えつつある穀物の利用
⇒バイオ燃料の生産のために穀物がますます多く利用されていること
③ population increases in developing countries
increases も「増加」という名詞ですね
・・・発展途上国における人口増加
さて、① crop failure attributed to climate change をどう和訳するかですね。
attribute A to B という熟語表現

これを attributed という過去分詞で後ろから説明（修飾）します。

動物の行動のさらなる研究や説明の必要性（を隠してきたように思われる）
（ from most of those who used the word ）の部分の those は「人々」の意味で、
those who ～ なら「 ～な人々」ですね。
大分難しかったですね。
【私訳】
人間の行動は理性の働きによって、動物の行動は本能の働きによって支配されていると、言われていた。
そして、動物の行動をこういったように本能のせいにすることが、本能という言葉を使った大半の人々から、動物の行動をさらに研究し説明することの必要性を隠してきたように思われる。
